What I am about
Money should not be taboo to talk about – it should be openly discussed, after all, this is how we grow and learn about not only ourselves but others around us.
I don’t like the word ‘budget’ – it is boring, has a lot of negative connotations and scares a lot of people. I prefer it to be thought of more of a money plan that can be implemented into your lifestyle and aligns with your values.
It is important to understand your historical spending habits to modify them and not only set achievable goals but also come up with practical steps and strategies to ultimately achieve them.
Life should be enjoyed – it is not about restricting yourself or your lifestyle and counting every cent – it is about establishing good money habits to be financially comfortable, meaning that you will not have to stress about unexpected emergencies or be able to splurge on that holiday of a lifetime.
Changing your money habits is ultimately about understanding your values and what drives you to make those purchases. It is about implementing easy strategies in your life that will allow you look at purchases from a ‘value’ point of view.
One thing that is important in today’s world, is to not compare yourself with someone else’s ruler! We all have different values and ‘money stories’ that could be totally different. My aim is to empower you to understand your key drivers and put them to good use! Remember – everything is always impossible before it works.
